Rights of Way and Access Support Officer

3-year fixed term contract, (pro rata £24,294 to £25,979), 22.2 hours per week


Help promote the enjoyment of Exmoor’s public rights of way network and provide support to ensure our public rights of way are ‘Open and Easy to Use’.


We are seeking a Rights of Way and Access Support Officer to provide technical support to our Access and Recreation Team. The role includes working with volunteers, assisting with Public Path Orders, data collection and record keeping, communicating with large recreational event organisers, and assisting with enquiries from land managers, access network users and the community.

The grazing is available from mid-April to the 31st December 2024 for sheep and/or cattle.


Cattle to be removed by the end of October.


Water is available as natural supply and/or pumped private supply.


The grazier will be required to top the weed once during the grazing season.


Should the graziers wish to acquire a Temporary Land Association to save triggering 6-day movements, from their home holding the Agent will be able to supply field numbers etc.


The grazier will abide by the owners Environmental Stewardship Scheme, which at the current time comprises three fields being part of Lot 2 as low input pasture and The Meadows Lot 1 also being low input pasture.


The grazier will be expected to sign a standard grazing licence and payment for the grass keep being half at the outset and half due on ist September 2024.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our small team, with immediate start available.


We are looking for an administrator to work initially up to 16 hours a week within our office near Wheddon Cross. Flexible working is available, and training can be given for the right candidate. You will be working with both Partners and workload will be mainly on the land agency aspects initially.


You will be involved in the following;

Administration of Countryside Stewardship, Capital Grants and SFI Schemes. Private Sales of Live and Deadstock and Grass Keep Licences. You will need to be organised and will be expected to have a good working knowledge of word, excel and email programmes. Existing knowledge of the above schemes would be an advantage.


The successful candidate will have;

• A positive outlook and work well within the existing team

• Will be punctual, presentable and reliable

• Be professional and organised

• Be able to learn and follow office procedures

• Be aware of client confidentiality at all times

• Have a basic understanding of the agricultural sector
