Surveyor Bateman Hosegood Ltd is a growing business that prides itself on a high standard of professional service with longstanding client relationships, specialising in providing advice on rural land-based schemes, estate management, property management and disposal, valuations and planning matters.
We are seeking an ambitious Rural Surveyor with at least two years of post- qualification experience. We have a loyal and existing client base and are looking for someone to service the existing workload, whilst driving the business forward managing the new office and team in South Molton.
We are an extremely flexible employer and therefore we would welcome applications from individuals looking for full or part time employment.
Duties to include but not limited to:
• Professional Valuations
• Landlord and Tenant
• Rural Planning and Development Opportunities
• Estate Management
• Compensation Claims, Utilities and Telecoms
• ELMS, Grants and Subsidies
• BNG and Natural Capital Opportunities
• General Professional Advice for Rural Clients
The right candidate will be a dynamic and influential team member, as well as having opportunities for progression within an existing successful rural practice.
Essential Skills:
• MRICS with a minimum of 2 years professional experience and preferably FAAV
• Self-motivated, proactive and a collaborative team member
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A full valid UK driving licence

We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on person to join our team on an Exmoor hill farm. The job is varied and practical, with a strong focus on livestock and land management. We’re moving towards a more resilient, low-input way of farming and would like someone who shares that mindset.
Main tasks:
Daily stock work and checks
Moving electric fencing
Fencing and hedging
Tractor work (mainly light duties)
Moorland and habitat work
Spot-spraying invasive plants
General farm maintenance
What we’re looking for:
Someone practical and motivated who’s happy working on their own
Confident with fencing to a high standard (essential)
Experience with livestock is useful but not essential
Ability to use a digger is a bonus
An interest in regenerative or low-input farming is welcome
